  7. THE TEXAN is a standard PC/AT plug-in graphics display controller, based on
  8. Texas Instruments' second-generation graphics system processor TMS34020 and
  9. TM34082 floating point coprocessor. The board is designed to support 32 MHz and
  10. 40 MHz; can significantly offload computing intensive operations from a host
  11. computer. The result is minimal bus traffic and increased system throughput.
  12. THE TEXAN supports multiple frame buffer configurations, each with an 8- or
  13. 4-bit per pixel frame buffer. Physical frame buffer size is 1K x 1K or 2K x 1K,
  14. supporting a maximum display resolution of 1600 x 1280. The VGA pass-through is
  15. provided to allow users to operate the system in a single monitor environment.
  16. Hardware cursor and pan display are also provided. Up to 1 MB of EPROM for
  17. onboard firmware and up to 8 MB of DRAM for program, display list, and X server
  18. are provided. Keyboard and locator device support are available through
  19. optional daughter board.
